Run an event, or give oneday’s pay:
Educate a young person for life.
The oneday campaign is the Oaktree Foundation’s largest fundraising campaign, raising money every year to support our education projects overseas. This year the oneday movement shifts its attention to South Africa- particularly the GOLD peer education project in KwaZulu-Natal. In 2008 the campaign aims to raise a quarter of a million dollars to support our projects, by mobilising people all over Australia to raise money by running an event or giving up oneday’s pay.
There are more people living with HIV in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa than anywhere else in the world. In some communities up to 60 percent of people between the ages of 16 and 45 are HIV-positive.
Through the GOLD program, the Oaktree Foundation is equipping a generation of influential young people to lead their peers in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
The proceeds of oneday 2008 will support Oaktree’s educational projects in South Africa.
$15 will provide a student with access to life-saving education through the GOLD program.
